Athens Symphony Celebrates 38 years of Free Performances
Thursday, April 28th, 2016
The Athens Symphony is celebrating 38 years of performances in its upcoming Athens Symphony Pops Concert. The concert will be held April 29-30 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Classic Center and will be free to the public, something that has held true since the group's inception.
The orchestra was founded in 1978 after nearly two years of surveys from the Clarke County Office of Cultural Affairs proved that the Athens community would be receptive to a community orchestra.
