Athens First Bank & Trust, a division of Synovus Bank, announced the addition of Mac McKnight to the Community Banking Division.

A Columbus, Ga., native and 2003 University of Georgia graduate, McKnight earned his degree in risk management and insurance from the Terry College School of Business. During his banking career he has served many roles, including branch manager, commercial real estate underwriter, commercial mortgage originator and commercial banker.

His role at Athens First Bank & Trust’s will be senior vice president and commercial real estate lender. McKnight relocated to Athens First Bank from Citizens First Bank, a Synovus division located in Rome, Ga. He’s been recognized as a member of the Synovus Chairman Circle of Excellence.
