Athens Assisted Living Community to Host Event with New Care Leaders Today

Staff Report From Athens CEO

Friday, January 22nd, 2016

Arbor Terrace of Athens, an assisted living and memory care community for seniors, is hosting a “drop in” meet and greet to introduce two new leaders in the resident care department: Brandy Brumfield, Resident Care Director, and Sarah Steward, Assistant Resident Care/Evergreen Director.

Brumfield, a licensed practical nurse, comes to Athens after having lead resident care teams at two other Arbor Company assisted living communities in Jacksonville, Fla., and Atlanta. She is originally from Rochester, N.Y.

At Arbor Terrace of Athens, Brumfield will lead all aspects of care for residents of the community.

“My main goal is to serve our residents at Arbor Terrace, allowing them to age in place with smooth transitions,” said Brumfield. “We want to give their families a feeling that, without a doubt, they've come to the right place.”

Brumfield is joined by Steward, a licensed practical nurse, who will lead the community’s Evergreen memory care program. Steward comes to Arbor Terrace with eight years of experience in nursing and caring for seniors.

In addition, Jim Cole, the community’s new in-house Physician’s Assistant, will be present at the event.

The meet and greet will take place Friday, Jan. 22, 4-6 p.m., at Arbor Terrace, 170 Marilyn Farmer Way, next to Georgia Square Mall. All are invited, though RSVPs are preferred by calling (706) 353-0400 or emailing [email protected].
