Athens Representative Spencer Frye on State Legislative Committee Set to Study Short-Term Residential Rentals

Even as Athens-Clarke County officials are reviewing local ordinances regarding short-term rentals of residential properties, Athens Democratic state Rep. Spencer Frye is gearing up for state legislative committee meetings on the same subject.
In a recent email, Frye said the House Study Committee on Short-Term Rental Providers will be meeting in September and October. Any report from the committee, which could include suggestions for legislation, must be approved by the committee and filed by Dec. 1, the date set for the committee to be abolished. The next state legislative session begins on the second Monday in January.
