Work on Downtown Athens Streetscape Might Take Place During Football Season

To the surprise of at least two downtown Athens business owners, work on a proposed streetscape project might get underway during football season.
Three contractors “pre-qualified” to bid on part of a $7 million project to revamp the streetscape of downtown Athens with wider sidewalks, larger shade trees and storm drainage improvements.
