Report Provides Insights into Athens-Clarke County's Economic Development Process

Athens-Clarke County is making good progress in revamping its economic development processes and strategies, according to a county report finalized this week, a report that also provides interesting insights into how the county is pursuing opportunities to bring new businesses and industries into the community.
Among the notable items in the report of the Economic Development Implementation Committee, a group of county commissioners appointed three years ago to implement the recommendations of a broad-based task force assembled by Mayor Nancy Denson, are brief mentions of Athens-Clarke County losing two major economic development opportunities.
