St. Mary’s Medical Group and Jeremy Anthony, M.D., are creating a new specialty medical practice – Endocrine Specialists of Athens – to provide outpatient care for people who need care for the body’s hormonal system.

Dr. Anthony will begin seeing patients Aug. 3 at his new office at 2470 Daniells Bridge Road, Building 200, Suite 221, Athens. Located in The Exchange office park, Endocrine Specialists of Athens is close to Ga. 316, the Athens Perimeter and the Oconee Connector, and includes free, front-door parking. Most major forms of insurance are accepted.

Dr. Anthony received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., in 2005. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2009 and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Anthony remained in Augusta to complete his internal medicine residency at Georgia Regents University, followed by a year serving as Chief Medical Resident. He went on to complete his fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism at Emory University in 2015 with a research focus in pituitary disease. 

Dr. Anthony is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. His clinical interests include all aspects of general endocrinology and diabetes. He and his wife, Katie, have one daughter, Julia. 

Endocrine Specialists of Athens will provide comprehensive outpatient physician care for adults with endocrine disorders. Commonly treated conditions include diabetes and related complications, diseases of thyroid dysfunction (hyper/hypothyroidism), thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, diseases of the parathyroid glands (hyper/hypocalcemia), diseases of adrenal glands including nodules, diseases of the pituitary gland, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease and hypogonadism.
