Athens-Area Stores Still Selling Confederate Flag See an Uptick in Sales

The Confederate battle flag came down from the lawn of South Carolina’s Capitol on Friday, days after Walmart, Sears and online merchants Amazon and eBay announced they would stop selling Confederate-themed merchandise.
All of those actions were precipitated by last month’s fatal shooting of the pastor and eight members of Charleston, South Carolina’s, Emanuel African Methodist Church.
