The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center, Office of Minority Business Development, will host a seminar for small businesses about the 8(a) Certification Step-by-Step 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Attendees will learn about an essential program designed to help socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain access to mainstream opportunities. Discussion topics will include sole source contracts, competitive bidding, joint ventures and eligibility requirements.

The cost to attend this seminar is $25, which includes seminar materials and refreshments. The seminar will take place at the Athens SBDC’s Chicopee Complex, 1180 E. Broad St., Athens.
