Athens-Ben Epps Airport Runway Extension will be Complete by Mid-August

Athens-Ben Epps Airport is still waiting for “the call.”
That’s how Airport Director Tim Beggerly refers to the yet-unreceived notification from a consulting firm working to find a new commercial air carrier for Athens, and he indicated at Tuesday’s meeting of the Athens-Ben Epps Airport Authority that no deals had been reached. Two months ago, Beggerly said the airport was in serious talks with a mainline carrier to provide local commercial air service.
