Good Samaritan to Host 2nd Annual 5K for Stroke Awareness

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital will hold its 2nd annual 5K Run for Stroke Awareness on Saturday, June 27, starting at 7:30 a.m. from the front doors of the hospital at 5401 Lake Oconee Parkway.
The event will raise awareness about stroke prevention and treatment. The 5K is a competitive event, but families and walker are welcome. Race timing will be provided by Classic Race Services, and prizes will be awarded three-deep to male and female winners overall, Masters, and in age brackets from 10-and-under to 75-and-over.
This year’s event will also include a fun run for children on a looping course in front of the hospital. The fun run will start at 7:20 a.m. and will include medals for all participants.
Registration is $25 through June 13; $30 thereafter. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a t-shirt. T-shirts also will be available on race day while supplies last. The Good Samaritan 5K Run for Stroke Awareness is part of the Clover Glove and Black Box race series.
