New Athens Restaurant Offers a Taste of the Mississippi Delta

When searching for a restaurant location, Champys Famous Fried Chicken owners and operators Josh and Amy Collins said they looked at a few properties in Athens and chose 1120 Baxter St. because of its distance from downtown Athens and Atlanta Highway.
While they are aware of the location’s rotating list of failed restaurants — past attempts include Off the Hook Fish House and Lucky Wings — Josh said he and his wife are optimistic that Champys can succeed there.
