More than 20 area startup companies and student business projects will return to the UGA Boyd Science Library on Tuesday March 24th for this semi-annual event aimed at connecting students with opportunities to engage the Athens startup community. Startup companies, mostly tech-based, will gather in the Boyd Science Library Lobby at 4:30pm to demonstrate their businesses and connect with students seeking real-world work experience.

David Sutherland, Terry College of Business lecturer and faculty advisor to the MBA Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation Club at UGA, said about the event, “Students 2 Startups is a unique opportunity for UGA students to explore internships and other experiential learning opportunities by networking with the local startup community in a familiar setting.”

Hosted in partnership with the UGA Department of Computer Science, Four Athens coordinates Students 2 Startups, previously known as Talk Tech, once a semester on campus to bring local business innovators and startup talent directly to UGA students. Free food and drinks are provided. Over 150 students have attended previous events, and nearly 100 different companies have participated over the last four years.

Four Athens has worked with the local startup community to develop relationships and promote growth for this valuable sector of the Athens economy since 2011.
