St. Mary’s Health Care System, Macy’s of Georgia Square, and the Athens Holiday Inn will present the 4^th Annual Heart Healthy Luncheon and Fashion Show on Friday, Feb. 6, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 197 E. Broad St.

This fun and educational event features a heart-healthy buffet lunch prepared by Athens Holiday Inn, fashions by Macy’s, and information about heart health and stroke prevention. This year’s featured speaker is cardiologist L. Steven Lowman, M.D., of Oconee Heart and Vascular Center. Dr. Lowman will be speaking about cardiovascular disease, including prevention, signs and symptoms – especially in women – and advances in treatment.

Models, all volunteers from St. Mary’s and the community, will be walking the runway in a variety of styles, including red to celebrate National Heart Month in February. Among them will be a number of survivors who are participating to demonstrate the healing power of medical advances and personal determination. Introducing the models will be mistress of ceremonies Katie Green, manager of Macy’s.
