Athens Regional Foundation & PetSmart Partner to Bring Holiday Cheer to Pediatric Patients

Thanks to the generosity of shoppers at PetSmart, visits to Athens Regional were a little brighter for younger patients this past holiday season. PetSmart Associates provided the opportunity for shoppers to purchase and donate a holiday plush toy at checkout. More than 700 stuffed animals were purchased for distribution to patients at Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary's. The puppies and kittens were a hit in Athens Regional's Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Rehabilitation units.
“We look forward to the Chance and Lucky donations every year. A portion of the sale price goes to fund spay and neuter clinics, and we get to donate the toys to the local community. It helps out two great causes!!” said Glenn Gulley of PetSmart.
Athens Regional is grateful to PetSmart patrons for these toys that brought smiles to the faces of our youngest patients.
