Twenty-six delegates of the Nigerian Quintessential Business Women Association will visit Brenau University on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The morning and afternoon sessions at the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts, 429 Academy St., are free and open to the public. The opening session led by Brenau President Ed Schrader in Hosch Theatre runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the Q & A session moderated by Dr. Gnimbin Ouattara, an Ivory Coast native and history professor at Brenau, beings at 2 p.m. in Banks Recital Hall. An exhibit of crafts and work brought from Nigeria will be on display in the lobby.

"It is quite an opportunity to bring such a powerful group of women leaders to our campus for the benefit of our students," said Ken Frank, professor of political science and legal studies at Brenau.

The Nigerian QBWA is a social business enterprise focused on the development of community-based businesses in the agricultural and solid mineral sector. The International Women's Think Tank of Atlanta is hosting the Nigerian QBWA Trade Mission, Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, to engage university participation for research and testing in cosmetics, packaged foods and other solid mineral products such as jewelry.

Shimite Katung, the president of the Nigerian QBWA, said the organization's goal, to build a manufacturing plant in Georgia, would provide an economic "win-win" for both Nigeria and the United States. Katung's motto is "Investing in women is not only the right thing to do, but the safe thing to do for a secured future!"
