Call it "Subway meets Mellow Mushroom."

That describes a relatively new pizza restaurant concept known as Your Pie, a small Athens, Ga., chain that two years ago opened its first and only Tennessee location, on Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro.

Now, with that experience considered a success, the company is looking to expand throughout Middle Tennessee, adding up to 12 more franchised locations over the next three years, said founder Drew French. Already, there are 18 stores in four states, with the most in Georgia. Others are in South Carolina and Florida.

This isn't the standard pizza chain by any measurement — either the table-service gourmet-style Mellow Mushroom or California Pizza Kitchen, or the prolific delivery-oriented national outfits such as Pizza Hut, Domino's and Papa John's.
