St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation held a celebration April 30 at the Sandy Creek Barn to celebrate the success of its capital campaign and the closing of the Good Samaritan Hospital Founder’s Society.

The Founder’s Society was created to give special recognition to donors who made or pledged a transformational gift of $50,000 or more prior to March 31. While the Founder’s Society is now closed, the hospital’s 1949 Society and Business Partners Society continue, as does the effort to raise the remaining funds in the Capital Campaign.

“We have achieved more than 90 percent of our $8 million goal, which truly speaks to the generosity of our donors and of this entire community,” said Foundation Director Crysty Odom.

At the April 30 celebration, attended by more than 135 people, GSH President Montez Carter provided an update on the fast-growing hospital. Attendees were welcomed by Board Chair Joe Gorman and also enjoyed remarks from Foundation Chair Rick Wolfert.

St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital still needs your help in order to provide services rarely found at hospitals in small communities, such as a third operating room, nuclear medicine room, and a minor procedures room. To be a donor, please contact Crysty Odom at 706.389.3925 or [email protected]. Gifts of any amount are appreciated, recognized, and – most importantly – make a difference.
