Cash, Investment Possibility for UGA Top Entrepreneur Winner

University of Georgia student Osama Hashmi is at least $5,500 richer after winning UGA’s “Next Top Entrepreneur” contest.

The senior from Augusta also got a chance to talk with investors who might put some money in his new company, Vitamin C.

Hashmi’s idea is software he’s designing with Vitamin C lead developer Jordan Burke that will allow physicians and other caregivers to easily keep track of how well patients are progressing during treatment or rehabilitation, through simple but direct feedback from patients over the Internet.

Both the audience and a panel of judges, including Peter Casey of Claddagh Resources, an Atlanta-based global recruitment and executive search firm, picked Hashmi’s Vitamin C over three other finalists in Wednesday night’s competition in UGA’s Miller Learning Center.
