Thomas & Hutton (T&H), a privately held and employee-owned professional services firm known for its award-winning culture and 80 years of shaping communities across the Southeast, joined the University of Georgia (UGA) College of Engineering as Employer of the Day and to officially unveil the Thomas & Hutton Systems Simulation Laboratory, marking the latest investment in a longstanding partnership.

T&H leaders joined representatives from the College of Engineering, university staff, and students for the naming ceremony. Attendees from T&H included Sam McCachern, PE, Ben Jones, Jr., PE, Jason Chambless, PE, Nathan Long, PE, Cecilia Arango, CPSM,and Stephan Jean, PE.

The newly named computer laboratory will provide UGA engineering students with space to develop technical skills, think critically, solve complex problems, and prepare for their future careers. The dedication recognizes T&H’s continued support of the College of Engineering and its students.

The unveiling coincided with T&H serving as the UGA College of Engineering’s Employer of the Day, providing students with an opportunity to meet T&H employees, learn about the firm’s work, and explore future opportunities. T&H representatives connected with students throughout the day and joined the College of Engineering student ambassadors for lunch.

This year Thomas & Hutton celebrates our 80th anniversary, so it is especially gratifying to have the Systems Simulation Lab in Driftmier Engineering Center bear the names of our founders, Hue Thomas and Joseph Hutton.
