AT&T, Human I-T Provide 100 Laptops to the Family Connection-Communities in Schools of Athens

AT&T and Human I-T provided Family Connection-Communities in Schools of Athens 100 refurbished laptops today to distribute to Athens residents in need. 

The computers, funded by an AT&T contribution, were given to Family Connection-Communities in Schools of Athens youth and families. Since 1992, Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens has served at-risk students in Athens, surrounding students with a community of support and empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. 

 “Staying connected is essential for people of all ages—whether it's supporting students in their education, helping adults strengthen their skills, or enabling families to access vital resources,” said Erin Thompson Podvin, Executive Director of Family Connection–Communities in Schools of Athens. “AT&T’s donation of laptops helps empower our community by expanding access to opportunity, learning, and connection. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to closing the digital divide and supporting our mission to help individuals and families thrive at every stage of life.”

This effort is part of AT&T’s initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T iscommitting $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
