BankSouth recently presented St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital with a $100,000 donation through the Georgia HEART Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program. This is the fourth year in a row BankSouth has contributed to St. Mary’s.

“We are so grateful for another generous donation from the team at BankSouth,” says Bria Brown, manager of Support Services with St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. “Their support is invaluable in helping us continue to provide exceptional care and services to Greene County and the surrounding area.”

Since 2021, BankSouth has contributed $375,000 to St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital through Georgia HEART. Donations via the program help ensure that rural hospitals can improve upon their services and meet the ever-evolving healthcare needs of the communities they serve.

“BankSouth is proud to once again participate in Georgia HEART. Seeing our donation directly benefit our neighbors and friends at Good Samaritan Hospital is incredibly rewarding,” said Harold Reynolds, CEO of BankSouth. “This program provides a significant opportunity to enhance access to quality healthcare that our employees and customers can benefit from.”

Through HEART, Georgia taxpayers can contribute in exchange for a 100% state income tax credit, up to specified limits, to qualified rural hospitals of their choice. C Corporations and pass-through business owners may also qualify for an additional federal business expense deduction.
