The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is expanding its online program opportunities as well as offering free, professional development and online training courses to provide more Georgians the flexibility to enhance their skills during this time.
“While the Coronavirus has upended us all in some way, it has provided an opportunity for our fellow Georgians to take advantage of time spent at home and explore virtual learning,” said TCSG Commissioner, Greg Dozier. “TCSG.edu is a great, one-stop shop to browse a variety of courses, programs, and professional development opportunities designed to provide Georgians with the skills needed for today’s marketplace.”
There are hundreds of certificate, diploma, and associate degree programs to choose from through the 22 colleges of the Technical College System of Georgia. Additionally, there are many programs in high-demand career fields that are available tuition-free through the HOPE Career Grant. These include computer programming, health science, logistics and transportation technology, and certified engineer assistant, among others.
TCSG is also offering free, online, soft-skills courses that encompass a variety of topics useful in any work environment. Courses include time management, customer service, business etiquette, goal setting, and workplace diversity, among others. Each course is self-paced and only requires an hour to an hour and a half of time to finish. Once accomplished, the participant will receive a personalized certificate of completion.
“For those that are interested, you can get started right away in many areas and begin your journey to a new career,” said Dozier. “Our network of 22 technical colleges across the state are a tremendous resource right now for those who have been displaced during this pandemic or are considering a change.”
