Athensmade and Athens Area Community Foundation Collaborate to Host Networking Event June 13th
Wednesday, June 7th, 2017
Athensmade and the Athens Area Community Foundation are teaming up to offer a Creative Networking Coffee on Tuesday, June 13th from 7:30-9 a.m. in the second floor conference room at Athens First Bank & Trust (downtown location: 150 W. Hancock Ave).
All Athens-area homegrown brands, creative professionals and nonprofit directors and/or board chairs are invited to enjoy this unique networking opportunity. The focus of this event will be a one-hour, rapid-fire self-introduction session. Sixty organizations will be given a chance to deliver a timed, thirty-second pitch about their business mission or a specific need they have this month that other attendees might be able to assist with.
“During a recent Athensmade presentation, I heard clearly the desire to promote the local stories of business innovation and growth. I was excited to later meet with Athensmade executive director Mary Charles Howard and partner in our missions through this networking event. So many talented nonprofits in our area need opportunities to promote, network, and share. Collaborating with Athensmade on a business event that attracts the creative communities our organizations represent seemed like a great way to connect.” - Sarah McKinney, President |CEO of the Athens Area Community Foundation.
Attendees not interested in speaking during the rapid-fire networking session are welcome to observe, listen and simply enjoy.
The structure of the event will go as follows:
1. 7:30-7:45 a.m.: Networking
2. 7:45-8:00 a.m.: Welcome from Athensmade & Athens Area Community Foundation with brief history on each organization
3. 8:00-9 a.m.: Rapid-fire self-introductions of sixty Athens-area organizations.
4. 9 a.m.: Conclusion with challenge
Those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP on Athensmade’s Facebook page or email [email protected] with the subject title “June 13.”
Attendees are encouraged to check-in upon arrival, wear your nametag and bring plenty of business cards. There is no fee for this event.
For inquiries or to reserve a thirty-second speaking opportunity, email Athensmade executive director Mary Charles Howard ([email protected]) with your name, organization name and category: creative business or nonprofit.
