Athens-based Pharma Tech Industries, one of the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturers and packagers of powder products in the world, hired management veteran Jacobo Capuano as its new chief operating officer.

Capuano will be based in Athens, but will spend much of his time at the company’s facilities in Royston, Ga., and Union, Mo.

Capuano comes to Pharma Tech with more than 25 years of operations and strategic supply chain experience. Prior to joining PTI, Capuano was director of global strategic sourcing for The Clorox Company and, before that, held leadership positions at Procter & Gamble and Givaudan Flavors.

Capuano earned his industrial engineering degree from the Universidad Anahuac del Norte in Huixquilucan, Estado De Mexico, Mexico, and an MBA from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico in Mexico City.
