The University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication was named one of the top two journalism schools in the country according to an annual survey by TVWeek.com and the Radio Television Digital News Association. 

Last year, the Grady College was ranked third in this survey. The top school in the 2014 ranking was the University of Missouri at Columbia School of Journalism.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a leader in journalism and mass communication by one of our most important constituencies,” said Charles Davis, dean of the Grady College. “Grady’s upcoming curricular changes make us even stronger, and better reflect the world our students are preparing for, so we are excited about the future.” 

According to the release about the rankings, comments submitted by voters about UGA’s Grady College stated, the “University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication has well-trained professors who truly care about giving students experience in all areas of telecommunications. It shows with the wide range of Grady students involved in the journalism industry around the country.”

According to TVWeek.com/RTDNA, 673 votes were cast in the survey this year. Approximately 43 percent of the respondents were news professionals, 28 percent were non-news professionals, 27 percent were students, and 12 percent were educators.
