Griffith, Holley Approved by Oconee County BOE as New Principals

The Oconee County Board of Education approved two leadership appointments during its work session on Monday, naming Mrs. Kim Griffith as Principal of Oconee County Elementary School and Dr. Brock Holley as Principal of Malcom Bridge Middle School.

“Mrs. Griffith and Dr. Holley are both outstanding leaders who understand the importance of student success, high expectations, and community relationships,” said Superintendent Dr. Melissa Butler. “Their leadership reflects the intentionality we value across Oconee County Schools, and they are deeply committed to serving students, supporting staff, and partnering with families. I am confident they will continue to build on the strong foundations at Malcom Bridge Middle and Oconee County Elementary.”

Mrs. Griffith currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Dove Creek Elementary School and brings more than 27 years of experience, including extensive work in Special Education and Instructional Support. She has served as an Instructional Support Specialist for Oconee County Schools and previously taught at Malcom Bridge Middle School. Mrs. Griffith holds an Education Specialist degree in Special Education and has completed Tier I leadership certification.

Dr. Holley currently serves as an Assistant Principal and as the Athletic Director at North Oconee High School and brings a diverse background in school leadership, Special Education, and athletics. His experience includes serving as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and teacher during a decade with Calhoun City Schools. He earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Georgia State University.

Mrs. Griffith will replace Jennifer Laughridge, who has accepted the position of Chief Academic Officer for Morgan County Charter Schools, on June 15. Dr. Holley will succeed Kristin Harrison, who was recently named Director of Secondary Education for Oconee County Schools, on July 1.

North Oconee Assistant Principal Cassy Moon will assume the role of Athletic Director for the Titans.
