Support 'Holiday Markets' at CCSD Schools!

Several schools around CCSD are once again holding holiday gift markets this year for students to “shop” at for items for loved ones. Donations of new and gently used items are currently being accepted. See below for details on each school's market and information on how to donate.

Barnett Shoals

Barnett Shoals Elementary School will hold its 17th annual Winter Wonderland store from Dec. 15-17 and is asking for donations of gently used items such as household decorative items, wintry items like snow globes, jewelry, unused lotions/perfumes/colognes, games for kids, purses/wallets, winter accessories, and art supplies. In addition to these items, the school is also requesting gift bags/boxes (all sizes), wrapping paper, bows, bubble wrap, clear tape, and gift tags. Donations may be dropped off at the school during school hours (7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.).

Holston 

Bettye H. Holston Elementary School will hold its third annual Winter Wonderland market Dec. 18-19. The school is accepting donations of toys, balls, games, and gifts for adults, such as make-up kits, purses, jewelry, grooming kits, and other ideal gifts for parents. Donations may be dropped off at the school during school hours (7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.).

Clarke Middle

Clarke Middle School will hold its annual Holiday Market Dec. 9-12 and is now accepting items inside the front entrance of the school. Please place the items in or around the decorated shopping cart. Please consider donating any of the following items listed below. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 12.

  • hats

  • sunglasses

  • functioning toys

  • jewelry (men's and women's)

  • housewares

  • new personal care products (lotions, perfumes, makeup, body wash, etc.)

  • purses and other bags

  • dad gifts

  • sports memorabilia/equipment

  • working electronics

  • gift bags, tissue paper

  • shopping bags

  • packing materials for breakables

  • to/from cards

 

Items that do not sell by the conclusion of the Market will be donated to Project Safe.

Hilsman Middle

Hilsman Middle School is accepting donations for its fifth annual Hilsman Holiday Market through Friday, Dec. 12. 

Some items of interest include, but are not limited to: toys and games, wrapping paper and gift bags, electronics, books, jewelry, small stuffed animals/dolls, gloves, hats, scarves, mugs, candles, balls, fidgets, dishes, vases, ceramics, journals, art supplies, holiday décor, photo frames, bath and body products, fleece blankets, home goods, reusable water bottles, make-up, gift cards, crafts, ornaments, and art.

Oglethorpe Avenue

Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School will hold its inaugural Student Holiday Market Dec. 15-19 and is asking for new and/or unused items such as hats, toys, jewelry, accessories, books, sports items, household decorative items, personal care products (lotions, perfume, make-up), electronics, mugs/tumblers etc. In addition to these items, the school is also requesting gift bags/boxes, wrapping paper, bows, and gift tags.

Volunteers are also being sought to work the Holiday Market wrapping gifts, assisting students with shopping, and setting up the store.
