Athens Academy Student Chosen for Governor’s Honors Program

Athens Academy is pleased to announce that junior Nina Rutledge has been chosen to participate in the 2024 Governor’s Honors Program in the subject area of Chemistry.

Over 4,200 students were nominated to the Governors Honors Program and nearly 1,500 of them participated in this year’s state interview/audition process.

Athens Academy is also proud of our five GHP semi-finalists, including juniors Siena
Avolio (Dance), Prince-Howard Currie (Agricultural Research, Biotechnology, and Science), Maya Davis (Mathematics), Read Johnson )World Languages /Spanish), and Joshua Xie (Computer Science).

Nina is the daughter of Bo and Birgit Rutledge of Athens. This summer, she will attend the program from June 16-July 13 at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Congratulations, Spartan!
