For the fourth straight year, the Online Master of Business and Technology degree at the University of Georgia is ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top 5 online specialized master’s programs in business.

The Terry College of Business graduate program ranked second among public universities in the U.S. and No. 4 overall. The U.S. News ranking provides an assessment of the best online master’s degrees in business, using data collected from each institution to evaluate their educational quality and delivery.

Working professionals can complete Terry’s part-time MBT program in two years without taking time off from their careers. Graduates of the program are prepared to lead and manage teams that build technology-based solutions for their organizations.

“Our graduates are capable of leading teams at the intersection of business innovation and information technology,” said Craig Piercy, director of the MBT program and a senior lecturer in Terry’s Management Information Systems Department. “Every year our faculty enhance the quality of the program, and we’re very proud of the career outcomes for our graduates as they re-enter a work environment that is constantly changing and evolving.”

In the U.S. News ranking, the Terry College received high marks for the world-class quality of its faculty and the resources used to train instructors to teach distance learners. Students who entered the program worked with instructors who are not only accessible and responsive but also created a learning environment that keeps students engaged in the online program and progressing toward on-time graduation.

“Our goal is for every student to reap the benefits of a Terry degree whether you’re taking classes in person or online,” said Dean Ben Ayers. “That includes working with teams, having an engaged cohort of classmates, and developing a career network as you move through your degree program. It’s not just about the graduate degree at the end of the journey. It’s about the career outcomes, relationships, the network of 75,000 alumni, and the toolkit of career services that distinguishes our graduate programs.”

In 2023, the Terry College is expanding its online offerings beyond the MBT program to include a new Online MBA that will be taught virtually but is designed to provide the same exceptional support and personalization as the college’s highly ranked hybrid and residential MBA programs.

The application period for Fall 2023 admission is now open for the MBT and the Online MBA programs.

U.S. News ranked specialized master’s programs in business based on several factors, including student engagement and quality, faculty credentials, the services and technology support given to students, and a peer assessment of academic reputation. Only online programs that award degrees from accredited institutions were considered.

The 2023 rankings evaluated more than 1,700 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. For more information, visit U.S. News’ Best Online Program rankings and UGA’s Office of Online Learning.
