Athens Academy Middle School Robotics Team Wins Award

Athens Academy’s Middle School robotics team, Sparbots Team #6380, recently won a Robot Design Award from last fall's virtual Columbus FIRST LEGO League tournament. Team members include eighth grader Nishil Patel and seventh grader Luke Kelly (not pictured); sixth graders Sumit Alexander, Benjamin Ayers, Spencer Farmer, Eva Saraf, Tucker Smith, Ben Warner, and Griffin Woodward; and fifth graders Ben Chappell, Sean Cline, Noah Dailey, Jackson Farmer, and Carson Gober.

According to faculty advisor Mike Callinan, "Even in these trying times of a pandemic, when the majority of schools and organizations closed down their robotics teams, the Athens Academy Middle School Sparbots Robotics Team 6380 persevered and won this award, and we are so proud of them!"
