To our partners across Georgia and elsewhere,

All of us are dealing with an unprecedented situation as we respond to the COVID-19 virus. As a unit of Public Service and Outreach at the University of Georgia, the Fanning Institute is operating under the guidelines and best practices set forth by the University System of Georgia and the University of Georgia. You can read more about the university’s response to COVID-19 here.

Due to guidelines put in place, the Fanning Building itself is closed and our faculty and staff are working remotely. While these actions are necessary to help combat the spread of COVID-19, the Fanning Institute remains committed to working with you and all of our partners to build stronger communities and a better quality of life for all Georgians by developing leaders of all ages and from all walks of life.

Currently, our faculty and staff are working diligently to transition our services to meet the needs of our partners while adhering to the guidelines and best practices set forth by government and public health officials in this “current normal.”

Specifically, if you are currently engaged with the Fanning Institute for programs or services:

If you have not already heard from a faculty or staff member at the Fanning Institute, you will be contacted in the coming days by your faculty or staff contacts regarding your programs or services.

We are conducting video- and tele-conferences in place of in-person meetings and will work with you to communicate in the most effective way possible

Our faculty and staff are working to adapt our programming as needed for online delivery, and we will work with each of you to develop the most effective plan moving forward for your program or service

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your faculty and staff contacts here at Fanning.

In addition, we are developing virtual leadership content to help your communities and organizations address your leadership needs during these times and we can also provide executive coaching, professional leadership development and other customized virtual trainings for you and your organizations.

I encourage you to call our main number at 706-542-1108 or email [email protected] to find out more about how we can assist you during these times.

We will also provide updates as needed on our Facebook and Twitter accounts and on our website, www.fanning.uga.edu.

Thank you for your understanding as we all navigate these uncharted waters together.

Best,

Matt Bishop
