Neurosurgeon Dr. Viren Vasudeva Joins Georgia Neurological Surgery

Georgia Neurological Surgery and Comprehensive Spine (GNS), part of St. Mary's Medical Group, is proud to welcome Viren Vasudeva, MD, to the practice. Dr. Vasudeva is a Board-eligible neurosurgeon who comes to GNS from Georgia Brain and Spine Center in Johns Creek, Ga.

Dr. Vasudeva earned his bachelor's degree in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences. He then advanced his knowledge of biochemistry through a non-degree program with the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences Graduate School at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, followed by a research training award fellowship at the NIH National Institute of Neurological Disorders & Stroke.

He went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta. He then completed a Fellowship in spinal neurosurgery and his neurosurgery residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Vasudeva also has a background in teaching, serving as a neuroanatomy lab instructor for two years and a Resident Mentor for four years at Harvard. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.
