Lyndon House Arts Center's Lounge Gallery Presents "Interior Worlds" by Leah McKellop

Staff Report From Athens CEO

Wednesday, December 4th, 2019

The Lounge Gallery at the Lyndon House Arts Center features quarterly solo exhibitions by artists in the beginning stages or re- invigorating their careers. Opening on December 7, 2019, "Interior Worlds" by Leah McKellop will be on display through March 1, 2020.

Leah McKellop is an artist and Rolfer currently living in Athens. As a Rolfer she is immersed in the body and its physical form. As an artist she explores the human subject outside the confines of the body, resulting in portraitures of interiors. Her current work combines printmaking and silk dying techniques. These works explore personal history via objects and their place in the domestic space. These scenes capture moments in time, rich with history and look to what may be ahead.

The exhibition is on display during regular gallery hours of Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exhibitions are free of charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Leah McKellop will present an artist demonstration in the studios on Thursday February 20, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. This special program is presented as part of the Third Thursday Event in partnership with ATHICA.
