GMSDC Announces New Communications And Marketing Director

The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC), the state of Georgia’s leading small business development and supplier diversity organization, has named Emily Yang as the new Director of Communications and Marketing.

“We are pleased to welcome Emily Yang to the GMSDC team,” said Stacey Key, GMSDC President and CEO. “Emily’s unique skills and background in communications and public relations make her well suited for this position. We are excited to leverage her experience fostering business relationships and delivering valuable content to our constituents.”

In this role, Yang will oversee GMSDC’s communications, marketing, media relations and branding initiatives. Her work entails broadening the reach of the GMSDC brand and elevating the way GMSDC engages with its key stakeholders. As GMSDC prepares to celebrate 45 years in 2020, Yang will lead efforts to capture the stories of businesses impacted by the organization.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team and to share the great work of our Georgia minority businesses,” said Yang.

Prior to joining GMSDC, Yang served as Director of Communications and Programming for a local Chamber of Commerce, where she led the organization’s communications, programming, and membership engagement.

Yang is a graduate of Georgia State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in public relations.
