The Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is building a team of Athens Insiders to author guest blog posts for VisitAthensGA.com, the official tourism website for Athens-Clarke County. The addition of guest bloggers will coincide with the relaunch of VisitAthensGA.com this fall. The new site will feature an all-new modern design and expanded content, including more local storytelling on the blog.

The CVB is seeking to contract with five local experts to contribute one freelance article per month in the following areas to the new VisitAthensGA.com blog.

Athens' Own: telling the stories of Athens makers, creators, disruptors and innovators

Events & Experiences: must-see and -do happenings and events that capture the best of the seasons

Family Fun: intergenerational experiences that bring people together

Food & Drink: what's new, trending mand distinctly Athens, expressed through taste buds

Music: celebrating Athens' rich music heritage and continuing influence and experiences

The CVB will pay $100 per 600-1,500-word article and will assist with media credentials or guest passes as needed. Blog topics will be determined based on the VisitAthensGA.com content calendar and agreed upon in advance by the CVB and guest bloggers.

“We are excited about the new website and the new team of Athens Insiders,” commented Hannah Smith, director of marketing and communications for the CVB.  “Athens has so many talented people who love this community. Showing Athens’ hidden gems and favorite experiences through the eyes of our local residents is a wonderful focus for the new website and is sure to attract more visitor attention and spending to help keep our local economy strong. I can’t wait to get to work with our guest blogging team.”

Interested Athens residents can learn more about these freelance guest blogger positions and apply by August 31 at https://www.visitathensga.com/about/athens-insiders-guest-bloggers/.
