Chase Opens its First Branch in Athens

Staff Report From Athens CEO

Wednesday, July 31st, 2019

hase will be hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony today to mark the opening of its first branch in Athens at 296 W. Broad Street

This is the first location to open in Athens and the first to open outside of the Atlanta area. It features Chase’s newest branch design and state-of-the-art banking technology, including three deposit-friendly ATMs that dispense cash in multiple denominations. The branch is staffed with eight employees to help consumers and businesses with their financial needs.

Chase announced earlier this year that it plans to add up to 40 branches over the next three years in Georgia, creating up to 200 local jobs. In addition to Athens, the bank will expand into Savannah for the first time later this year – and continue to add branches in the Metro Atlanta area. Chase will hire staff locally to support its new branches, including bankers, branch managers, business bankers and financial advisors.

This move nearly doubles Chase’s initial announcement last year that it will add 25 branches in Georgia over the next three years. The bank currently serves nearly 2 million consumers and 110,000 small businesses through 80 branches and 215 ATMs in Metro Atlanta.
