Anna Greenway Of Greater Athens Properties And Jennifer Brown Of Brown Law Office To Chair The 2019 Alzheimer’s Association Walk To End Alzheimer’s

Anna Greenway and Jennifer Brown join the Alzheimer’s Association as the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Chairs in Athens.

“I have been involved with Athens Walk to End Alzheimer's for over five years and I am very passionate about the cause”, added Anna Greenway.  “I believe the more people to get involved the stronger our Athens community will grow and help us end Alzheimer’s disease”, said Greenway.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s.

"Getting involved as a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association has given me the opportunity every day to honor the memory of my grandmother, Bertha R. Brown, who had dementia”, added Jennifer Brown.  “This disease contributed greatly to her demise. Volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association allows me to be a part of a passionate group working toward achieving an important, yet common goal of ending Alzheimer's”, added Brown.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at in Athens. Nearly 800 people from Athens and surrounding communities are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.

“We are incredibly grateful to Anna and Jennifer for teaming up to chair this very important community event”, added Lauren Schmitt, Alzheimer’s Association, Manager, Athens Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “Not only do they bring passion to the cause, but energy and enthusiasm that will help us reach our goal of raising over $169,000”, added Schmitt.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
