Athens-Clarke County Youth Sports Program Registration Continues

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department continues online registration for its fall sports programs at www.accgov.com/leisure.

The youth soccer program is available for ages 5-12 and takes place at Southeast Clarke Park at 4440 Lexington Road. The program is designed for players to learn, develop, and apply fundamental skills. The season takes place August 21-October 18. Practices are held Tuesdays or Wednesdays, depending on age group, with games on Thursday evenings. The fee is $65 for ACC residents and $98 for non-residents.

Gymnastics classes are available for toddlers and youth. Tumbling classes are available for youth and teens. All classes take place at Bishop Park located at 705 Sunset Dr. The program has a variety of options for children of all skill levels. The season takes place August 13-December 3. The fee ranges from $87-$140 for ACC residents and $131 to $210 for non-residents.

Tennis programs are available for individuals, ages 5-16 and takes place at the Athens-Clarke County Tennis Center at 4460 Lexington Road and Bishop Park at 705 Sunset Drive. Instruction is designed for beginners and intermediates The season is August 15-December 18. Each six-week session costs $60 per for ACC residents and $90 for non-residents.

Basketball preseason skills development program is new for the fall and will be offered to children ages 7-14 at Lay Park located at 297 Hoyt St. and East Athens Community Center located at 400 McKinley Dr. This skill development program is designed to give each player the skills necessary to compete in the upcoming basketball season. The 8-week session cost $60 for ACC residents and $90 for non-residents.
