State Representative Deborah Gonzalez (D-Athens) was recently appointed Vice Chair of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators’ Law & Criminal Task Force. Rep. Gonzalez was selected for this position based on her work as a member of the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee.

“I am honored to be appointed to a leadership position on such an important task force on a national platform,” said Rep. Gonzalez. “I was proud to serve on Georgia’s Judiciary Non-Civil Committee during the 2018 session, and it reinforced that we still have much work to do in terms of correcting the injustices of the past.  I believe working on this national task force will provide additional materials and opportunities for me to continue my work on criminal justice in Georgia, and I am currently putting together a Georgia advisory board to assist me on this task force.”
