United Way Thanks Volunteers, Supporters for Day of Caring

Staff Report From Athens CEO

Friday, September 29th, 2017

Day of Caring is an annual event where local businesses, their employees, and community members volunteer to complete several different projects that benefit our Northeast Georgia area.

Together we worked at over 25 project sites over our eight-county region. This year we had over 500 volunteers from over 15 local businesses that made the 2017 Day of Caring such a success.

Special thanks to Grainger who made a large contribution to help cover cost of materials for projects, as well as Caterpillar Plant for their 254 volunteers. We would like to thank UGA FMD (Facilities Management Department), UGA Food Services, and McLane Southeast for their donations and support. Lastly, thank you to our wonderful United Way of Northeast Georgia Day of Caring Chair Ralph Johnson.

If you or your business would like to participate in Day of Caring next year, contact Julie Paulk at (706) 543-5254.
