Jonathan Murrow Joins Oconee State Bank Board of Directors

Oconee State Bank announced Dr. Jonathan Murrow joined the company’s Board of Directors, effective Monday, September 26.

“Jonathan will be a tremendous addition to our board,” said Jerry Wages, Oconee State Bank Interim President and CEO.  “He wears many hats in our region and beyond as an educator, cardiologist, leader and entrepreneur.  His global perspective and local roots will be incredibly valuable as we chart the path forward for Oconee State Bank.”

Dr. Murrow, 41, practices cardiology with Athens Regional Cardiology Group and is the physician lead of Medical Education at Athens Regional Medical Center.  In addition, he also serves as the Campus Associate Dean of Research and Associate Professor at the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership.

Dr. Murrow completed his undergraduate work at Harvard College and earned his medical degree from Emory University.  He later completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He returned to Emory to complete his cardiology training, where he was named to the cardiology faculty in the department of medicine.  A Farmington resident, he is a 1993 graduate of Oconee County High School and was a member of Oconee State Bank’s junior board of directors from 1992-93.
