Athens Career Academy Enrollment Could More than Double

Enrollment at the Athens Community Career Academy has picked up sharply and could approach 300 students next fall, more than doubling the program’s 2015-16 enrollment, according to new career academy director Lawrence Harris.
Already, 219 students have signed up to take courses next fall, 76 more are scheduled to take admissions tests that would let them take college-level courses, and more will likely follow those, Harris told the Clarke County Board of Education during an all-day workshop Monday.
