A select group of UGA students will deliver a final business pitch to a panel of judges on Tuesday May 5th at the Main Library on campus. At stake is a $1500 prize to the winners. The Final Pitch night is the culmination of an 8-week Idea Accelerator program offered through UGA’s eHub and powered by Four Athens.

Jim Flannery, Director of Four Athens, who will judge the teams’ pitches, said about the competition, “Many of the Accelerator students have improved their business acumen as a result of the program. I’m looking forward to hearing how they’ve refined their initial ideas.”

The 7 teams participating in the e-Hub Idea Accelerator range from undergraduate students to faculty at UGA. Over the course of the 8-week program, participants learned foundational skills for conducting market research, refining their business ideas, and ultimately, making a cohesive pitch to investors, customers, and the general public. Each team will make their final pitch between 6:30 and 8:30pm on May 5th, and the winner takes home the prize, $1500 provided through the UGA Research Foundation and a donation from Tarkenton Companies, an Atlanta-based business services company with a focus on support for entrepreneurs.
