LEAD Athens is a signature initiative of the Athens Area Chamber. Started in the early 1980's Lead Athens is recognized as one of the most enlightening leadership programs in Georgia. Our class is limited to 30 individuals.  The class will meet monthly from June - April.  If you are interested, or have someone you know that might be interested, a link to the application can be found at Click Here.    The deadline for applications is April 11, 2022.

Deadline: Monday, April 11, 2022 - 5:00pm

ACCEPTANCE:
Candidates are selected on their own merits from written applications received by LEAD Athens no later than Monday, April 11. Each class is limited in size, and those applicants not accepted are encouraged to re-apply the following year. Program acceptance will be communicated by Tuesday, May 10 and participants will be expected to commit to the program by Tuesday, May 17.

ATTENDANCE:
Participants are required to attend the orientation, retreat, and all class activities and sessions. Any non-attendance may result in deferred graduation or removal from the program. Participants are also expected to serve as active team members and participate in all individual and group leadership assignments/projects.

COVID-19:
The LEAD Athens program will be run in accordance with the most up-to-date local Athens Clarke-County and State of Georgia Executive Orders. All sessions will follow Georgia Department of Public Health and CDC guidance/best practices regarding Covid-19. Safety measures under consideration by the steering committee include, but are not limited to social distancing, mask wearing, limiting class size, etc. If participants have questions or concerns about Covid-19 protocols they should reach out to David Bradley: [email protected].

TUITION:
Tuition for LEAD Athens is $1,600 and is due by June 24, 2022. Tuition is non-refundable. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. If a scholarship is extremely critical to your participation in LEAD Athens, please explain your statement in a brief email to Kim Childs: [email protected].

State Economic Development Session: Savannah, GA: Tentative Dates - Please hold: Thursday-Friday January 26-27, February 23-24, and March 23-24, 2023
