Batson Associates, Inc., in partnership with Presbyterian Homes of Georgia and RW Allen Construction, is completing construction of Presbyterian Village Athens, the area’s only Life Plan Community. Located minutes from Athens, in Watkinsville, Georgia, the 365,500-square-foot senior living community includes a full continuum of state-of-the-art health care services and living options – including assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehabilitation.

Batson Associates, the architect of record, designed Presbyterian Village Athens with an emphasis on connectivity and an appreciation for Presbyterian Homes of Georgia’s mission – to provide exceptional services to enhance the quality of life for senior adults. The Village Center, 100-room Health Services Pavilion, and 100 independent living apartments were strategically planned to promote connection and engagement between residents.

The heart of campus is the 186,500-square-foot lodge-inspired Village Center, which gathers residents through multiple dining venues, a 200-seat auditorium, chapel, fitness center, indoor pool, library, and a pub with billiards.

Life Plan Communities offer multiple levels of care and support an active retirement lifestyle with a like-minded community. Life Plan Communities also give residents the confidence of knowing everything they need is on campus, throughout every phase of senior living.

“Over the last five years, we’ve worked closely with Presbyterian Homes of Georgia’s team to create inclusive, friendly designs that encourage community,” said Jeff Fogle, chief executive officer at Batson Associates. “Presbyterian Village Athens was designed to offer freedom and peace of mind for a lifetime. It’s been incredibly rewarding to create a design that will enhance the quality of life for so many people.”

The 100-unit independent living apartment building offers five unique floor plan options. The building includes covered parking and shared gathering spaces including a fireside room, solarium, and guest suites for visiting family members and prospective residents.

All 70 independent living residences have been sold, and strong demand led Presbyterian Homes of Georgia to add 30 apartments to the original construction plan which will be completed in summer 2021.
