Staff Report

Friday, December 4th, 2020

On behalf of the Athens Wellbeing Project, Resilient Georgia, the Athens Area Community Foundation, and Envision Athens, we would like to invite you to participate in our Behavioral Health Community Needs Assessment survey for providers in Athens and contiguous counties.

To participate, follow this link to the Survey: Take the Survey

Any individual and/or organization who completes the survey will receive a $10 Starbucks e-gift card for their participation.

Who should participate?
Organizations and/or individuals that provide behavioral health services to patients in Northeast Georgia.

Why is this needs assessment being conducted?
A robust and trauma-informed behavioral health continuum of care is among the most urgent needs of Athens-Clarke County and of the Northeast Georgia region. A needs assessment typically focuses on demand-side factors, but this survey will help to capture the supply-side needs of the community from the viewpoint of service providers. Funding and support for service providers are often gauged upon proven need.

Who is conducting this needs assessment?
The Athens Wellbeing Project and Dr. Grace Bagwell Adams, a UGA professor and the Principal Investigator of the Athens Wellbeing Project are conducting this needs assessment. If you have any questions about the needs assessment or its goals, please contact Dr. Grace Bagwell Adams ([email protected]) or Megan
Bramlett, MPH ([email protected]).

What is being assessed?
This 20-30 minute survey is part of a supply-side needs assessment targeted at understanding the landscape of service providers, healthcare options, and treatment options for behavioral health in the Northeast Georgia region.

The surveying period will last until December 15th, 2020. In addition to this survey, we will be examining secondary data from the Georgia DPH, DBHDD, and federal agencies SAMHSA and CDC.
