Athens Academy is pleased to announce that we are nearing completion on two new buildings on our 152-acre campus. Both projects are being led by Hogan Builders Inc.

The first construction project is the Farmer Field House, a 10,000-square-foot building located at the end of Slaughter Field, the school’s football/soccer field. The Farmer Field House will serve multiple athletic teams with four locker rooms, a training room, shower facilities, offices, a concession stand, and a large meeting room for team events and special gatherings. The field house had been named by alumnus Leon Farmer III (Class of 1984), wife Rebecca, and children Beau (Class of 2021) and Brooke (Class of 2025).

The second construction project is the Drew Swan Middle School Building, a 20,000-square-foot building located in the heart of the Athens Academy campus between the Bertelsmann and Daughtry Buildings. The Drew Swan Middle School will house multiple classrooms for seventh and eighth grade classes, two science labs, a communal gathering space, and multiple offices. The building is named for alumnus Drew Swan (Class of 2017), who passed away suddenly in 2017.

Athens Academy is grateful for the many donors who made these buildings a reality for our school community. We look forward to opening the Farmer Field House in early November, and the Drew Swan Building in March.
