Athens-Clarke County Extension Moves to New Building on Cleveland Road

The current Athens-Clarke County Extension office located at 2152 West Broad Street will close permanently to the public as of Friday, August 30 at 5:00 p.m.

Athens-Clarke County Extension will open to the general public in its new building at 275 Cleveland Road, Bogart, GA 30622 as of Tuesday, September 10 under its normal operating hours. It will remain closed during the week of September 3-6 to allow staff to move equipment and furnishings to the newly-constructed building. The public is invited to attend a dedication ceremony at the new building on Monday, September 9 at 3:30 p.m. prior to its public opening.

The construction of the new building is part of the SPLOST 2011 program approved by Athens-Clarke County voters on November 2, 2010. The project provides for facilities to support staff functions, program and educational services, the 4-H program, and other community events sponsored by the Athens-Clarke County Extension Office.

Athens-Clarke County Extension is the local office of the statewide County Extension System. It is a cooperative venture between the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the University of Georgia that provides education and information for all citizens of Athens-Clarke County in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, the environment, families, food and nutrition, and financial security.
