Rep. Gilliard to Host Second Annual Georgia International Trade & Commerce Summit This Week

State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host the second annual Georgia International Trade & Commerce Summit 2019 on Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Friday, July 12, 2019, from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Garden City City Hall.

Mayor Don Bethune, Mayor Eddie Deloach, Mayor Jason Buelterman, Mayor Mike Lamb, Mayor Cornell Harvey, Global Logistics, the summit co-chairs, elected officials, state lawmakers, consul generals and members of the Garden City city council will hold a press conference during the summit on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Garden City City Hall.

The annual event is designed to enhance international relations in the trade and logistics industries in Georgia and will include individuals involved in the global economy, such as manufacturing exporters, service providers, importers, educational institutions and government agencies. The two-day summit will feature keynote speakers, multiple break-out sessions with local area mayors and a tour of the Georgia Ports Authority. The summit’s break-out sessions will highlight issues that impact international trade and commerce in the state, as well as a panel discussion and reception with representatives from the Consulate General of Canada & Trade Commissioner Service, Consulate General of Ireland and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Consulate General of Japan, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and Consulate General of Netherlands. Summit partners include the following municipalities: Garden City; Savannah; Pooler; Tybee; Georgia; and Brunswick.
